Sony Launched the PlayStation Vue online TV service for $50 a month

Sony has now entered the television market with their launching of the PlayStation Vue web video service in three cities initially, New York, Chicago, and Philadelphia. They are targeting customers who are looking for cheaper alternatives to cable since Sony's offer starts at $50. 

The service is available through Playstation 3 and Playstation 4 consoles and they are planning to include Apple’s iPad in the future. The television service is web and cloud-based which let users to access live TV and on-demand video. Sony will be competing with new players like Dish Network's Sling TV ($20-a-month video streaming service) in online video services with one of the largest packages of channels with more than 85 channels, which includes programming from 3 major networks, CBS, Fox and NBCUniversal. AMC Network content will also be available from April. Netflix and Amazon have been offering on-demand online video content for a number of years already.

Viewers can choose the $60-a-month package to get local sports channels. A $70-a-month service adds some music, lifestyle and family channels.

Anki Overdrive is a toy equipped with an Artificial Intelligence (AI) and visual sensors that will ensure that it will not fly off track. It is a racing game that is controlled by smartphones using a mobile app to race real battle-equipped toy cars. Anki race cars has the ability to detect opponents that are on the track, they can also fire weapons and get level-up like speed or upgrade virtual weapons for future races.

The game is like playing video game with real toys. Anki cars will not go off the track, since it has information embedded in special ink on the tracks. Infrared cameras on the vehicles’ undercarriages read this directional data 500 times a second and relay it to the onboard 50-megahertz computer and your phone.

Anki DRIVE toy includes a physical track that rolls out to 3 ½’ x 8 ½’, and is intended for indoor use only.

Anki DRIVE also requires at least one compatible iOS or Android device. It cost about $150, and it will be available in September 2015.

A Barbie that interacts with your kids. Mattel's "Hello Barbie" is the latest version of the popular doll that is connected to the internet which enable it to converse with children using Wi-Fi and an app. This toy is similar to CogniToy, but the technology used is not as sophisticated.

The Barbie doll connects through Wi-Fi and uses speech recognition technology to recognize voice. It can also remember what you are saying like, your name or your favorite color. Unlike CogniToy which uses Watson servers, to get an answer Barbie has about 10,000 canned responses. It can also play interactive games with the kids and can tell jokes and stories.

Mattel is also developing a parental portal in which they will be able to record and listen to their kid’s conversations with the doll.

The doll is expected to be available this fall at $74.99.

Remember Rex the Dinosaur from Toy Story? this talking Dino is way smarter. Fledgling startup Element Path presented at the New York Toy Fair on Monday, CogniToy a cute talking dinosaur toy which uses IBM’s Watson cognitive computing system.

The cognitive toy is for 7 years old and below, it is equipped with voice recognition software that enable it to have conversation with children. It can also remembers their names, asks and answers questions, and tell jokes. 

Children can interact with the CogniToy by pressing a button on its belly and talking to it. The toy connects through Wi-Fi to the Watson servers, to get an answer.

R/C Plane Lose Control Crashes Into the Sea and Got a Peek at Underwater Marine Life

A YouTube video uploaded by "MrLiftHog" which has now 1.5 million views shows his R/C Plane crashing into the sea but the video keeps on recording capturing magnificent life under the sea. The plane was flown over the Osprey Bay in Western Australia. The R/C Aircraft use is Nine Eagles Sky Climber.

It may have failed its purpose to fly and land safely, but it did gave us an amazing video of underwater marine life. You can see the magnificent reefs, fish, turtles, and I thought I saw a shark.

Looks like there will be a new actors and actresses to play Storm, Cyclops and Jean Grey. In the first X-men movie back in 2000, Storm (Ororo Munroe) was played by Halle Berry, James Marsden was Cyclops, and Famke Janssen played Jean Grey. 



In the upcoming franchise X-Men: Apocalypse Director Bryan Singer announced new casting for these well-loved mutants. Sophie Turner will play Jean Grey, Alexandra Shipp will be Storm, while Tye Sheridan will be Cyclops.

Sophie Turner is known for her role as Sansa Stark on HBO's Game of Thrones. Alexandra Shipp played Aaliyah in the  Lifetime movie Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B. While, Tye Sheridan was known for his characters in the movies The Forger and Joe.

X-Men Apocalypse is expected to be released on May 27, 2016.

The action packed "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare" by Activision is the top selling game in 2014. The "Call of Duty" franchise has regain the top spot after losing to "Grand Theft Auto 5" back in 2013. "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare" is a first person shooter game that is highly popular in the gaming world.
