May 4 Star Wars Day 2016 Star Wars Toys

It's May 4 and it's Star Wars day “May the Fourth be with you!” With the momentum from the movie "The Force Awakens" and anticipation of their upcoming movie "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" their franchise continues to gain in popularity. The Force Awakens, rammed its way to box office records after Walt Disney’s Lucasfilm released it in December.

Disney and LucasFilms are using this Star Wars Day to raise more than $2 million for various causes under the heading "Force for Change."

Disney XD will show a marathon of Star Wars-related animated programs, including "Rebels" and "Droid Tales." The month of May has also been a time for "Star Wars Weekends" at the Disney parks.

Mattel super Hero Toys for Girls

DC Super Hero Girls is Mattel's new line of toys that features female super heroes from DC Comics that have been transformed to high school students targeting girls. Mattel started to sell these toys back March to remove the notion that toy companies don't like to manufacture female action figures. Well it's kinda true, look at Hasbro they don't sell Rey from Star Wars or Black Widow from Avengers: The Age of Ultron.  

Mattel is counting on these super Hero Toys for Girls to bump up their sales figures. Mattel boast that these new line of toys are "the first-ever action role-play toys for girls."
