Changes in technology can be mind boggling and it changes so fast, soon kids will be able to create their own toys with Mattel’s $300 ThingMaker 3D printer. The 3D printer also has an app that will let kids customize their toys.

Mattel unveiled the new toy called the "ThingMaker" at the 2016 New York Toy Fair trade show. The toy maker will work hand-in-hand with a 3D printing app called "ThingMakerDesign". It was created in collaboration with the software company Autodesk.

Mattel said that they want the ThingMaker as easy as possible for kids to use and experiment with. The "ThingMakerDesign" App will be available for Android and iOS. The App will provide the kids with templates for toys like action figure, cars, boat, buildings, dolls, bracelets, rings, etc. They can also make toys from scratch once they feel comfortable with the software.

All of the toys can be customized with different colors and textures, and the ThingMaker prints out parts of each toy so kids can assemble them on their own.

The new ThingMaker is definitely the toy to buy this 2016.
