Adidas's Shackle Shoes

Adidas's Shackle Shoes |
Adidas has canceled its plans to release its new $350 sneaker with a shackle-like ankle cuff after critics complained the shoes were racist and reminiscent of slavery.

Nike Air Bakin |
In 1998, the Nike Air Bakin made national headlines when Arab-American groups thought that the way “Air” was written on the shoe looked too similar to “Allah” written in Arabic. Drawing criticism from Islamic advocacy groups, Nike recalled thousands of shoes, and cost Nike millions of dollars.

Marvel Comics' Astonishing X-Men
Marvel Comics' Astonishing X-Men features the Marvel's first gay marriage between longtime X-Man Northstar and his civilian boyfriend, Kyle. After pairing up the couple in 2009, Marvel is officially tying their knot in June's Astonishing X-Men #51.
Marvel has a lot of LGBT characters, many of whom are in committed relationships, this is the first one to go all the way. The comic industry's number-one publisher has always reflected America's cultural and political developments. Northstar (Jean-Paul Beaubier), solidifies his position as Marvel's premiere gay superhero. Introduced in 1979, his sexuality was only inferred until 1992 in Alpha Flight #106. The outing spurred an unexpected frenzy, conjuring multiple editions of Alpha Flight #106 and a media blitz that hit faster than Northstar at maximum velocity. The character also adopted a baby with AIDS, mentored a gay mutant named Anole, and even wrote a book about his experience as a gay mutant, titled Born Normal; it's hard to imagine how this guy made time for fighting crime.

Iron Man 3 Armored Suits
The first official photo from the set of "Iron Man 3" was released today, and it shows Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) reunited with his seven armored suits.
The still shows Downey facing his collection of Iron Man suits, which has been expanded since the last movie. In "Iron Man 2," his shop only featured four suits, but now it includes the ones he wears in "The Avengers."
Mark I:
This is the suit Tony Stark built out of spare weapons parts to escape imprisonment. He abandoned it in the desert where it was picked up by his captors, but he was apparently able to get it back for his collection.
Mark II:
Tony only ever took his silver prototype version out for a test flight (and crash landing). In the second movie, Stark's friend James "Rhodey" Rhodes took the suit and added on weapons to become War Machine. In the new photo, it looks like Tony stripped it back down to its shiny basics.
Mark III:
The first red-and-gold armor. The first cut of "Iron Man" didn't have the scene where Tony's suit gets assembled piece-by-piece around him, but after the success of "Transformers," the studio handed over more money to add in some additional high-tech gadgetry. In the new photo, the suit is still battle-damaged from Stark's climatic fight with Iron Monger.
Mark IV:
Tony developed a more streamlined suit for the Stark Expo (but it's equally good for picking up doughnuts). In this shot, Robert Downey Jr. is in the full costume, but usually during filming he only wears the top half for the sake of mobility. The mechanical legs are then added in digitally.
Mark V:
The silver and red suitcase armor he used to fight against Whiplash in Monaco during the Grand Prix. This was actually inspired by the original comic books, which showed Tony carting around his suit in a briefcase. But in the books the case didn't transform; the suit was simply carried inside.
Mark VI:
Stark wore this suit with the redesigned with a triangular chest repulsor in both "Iron Man 2" and "The Avengers." Tony uses clues left by his father Howard Stark to develop a new element to power his chest reactor. This is a reference to vibranium, the extremely rare metal Howard used to create Captain America's shield.
Mark VII:
Stark's most recent suit is the bulked-up, three-color armor he used for the final battle against Loki and the Chitauri army in "The Avengers." Writer/director Joss Whedon told Empire Magazine that he insisted that Tony's suit go back to the circular light in the chest. He said, "I'm a classicist. The circle has meaning, the triangle does not."

Harry Potter fans abandon pet owls
Sad news, really sad news. Owning a pet is not just like buying accessories or a bag, it is a responsibility. Some Harry Potter fans was not contented on toys, cheesy customes, and posters they even adopted pet owls after seeing or reading about them in Harry Potter. Now, with the series all but completely old news, fans have apparently lost interest in their feathered friends and released them into the wild — or, apparently, anywhere in the United Kingdom.
According to The Mirror, hundreds of the predatory birds have been flooding owl rescue organizations since the end of the Potter movie series, and an untold number are still cruising around the country. Many breeds of owl make life tough for other birds, and the sudden influx may have a damaging effect on local ecosystems and other bird populations, not to mention the numbers of native wild owls.
But it's not just the owls that are paying the price; Anyone caught releasing an owl into the wild can face up to six months in jail and a fine of over $7,000. Potter fans who need to give up their pets are encouraged to take them to a wildlife sanctuary where they can be cared for, rather than letting them "accidentally" fly out the window.
