Spider-Man Peter Parker dies in final issue

Spider-Man Peter Parker dies, spiderman death, peter parker death

The final issue of Marvel Comics' The Amazing Spider-Man was published Wednesday. Peter Parker, the man behind the mask for 50 years, dies in a battle with his nemesis, Doctor Octopus.

Peter Parker, the New York City high school student who was bitten by a radioactive spider and turned to the web-slinging superhero Spider-Man, died Wednesday after his mind was mysteriously transplanted into the body of his terminally ill arch-nemesis Doctor Octopus.

Parker’s death was confirmed in the 700th and final issue of Marvel Comics’ The Amazing Spider-Man, which will be discontinued after 50 years of publication. His age was unknown.

All parties involved maintain that the changes are quite permanent, and next month, the saga begins anew with the release of “The Superior Spider-Man” #1, with the Doc, Otto Octavius, stepping into the Spidey suit.

Otto believes that with the combination of his intelligence and Parker’s inherited memories and spider powers, he can be an uber-Spider-Man. He can live Parker’s life better than Peter could from fighting crime to getting back together with on-again, off-again girlfriend Mary Jane Watson.

When issue #700 was leaked early, fan reaction both positive and negative went into overdrive, with a few posted death threats directed at the issue’s writer, Dan Slott.

Facebook New Aps, Posts that disappear

I'm so glad that the world didn't end as predicted by some wackos! Check out the new app for facebook for sending secrete message or photos that disappear after a few seconds.

Facebook New Aps, Posts that disappear

Social networking site Facebook has launched a new app for iOS called Poke on Friday which erases pictures and messages within seconds of being sent. Using the social network’s “Poke” feature in order to send short text, picture and video messages as well as the more traditional poke. Users have the option of adding their location to each poke, as well as sending each message to multiple recipients at once.

Unlike traditional Facebook messaging, users can specify how long the message will be displayed before being destroyed. Each poke can be displayed for 1, 3, 5 or 10 seconds before being removed from the app entirely, and the app wil notify the sender if any recipients take a screenshot. Anyone concerned about potentially unwanted or inappropriate messages can block and report users from within the Settings menu.

The new app is similar to Snapchat, an app which is popular with younger age users, and which has gained a reputation as a tool for sending risque images. It also has similar message expiry and screenshot detection features. Pandodaily reported that Snapchat sees 50 million photos sent a day, and it would seem that Facebook sensed an opportunity to offer a similar feature to its billion or so active users, putting the app together in just under two weeks.

Unlike Snapchat which is available on iOS and Android, Poke is currently limited to those on Apple devices, with no word of whether a dedicated Android app is coming or not. Poke takes Facebook’s iOS app count to five, two of which are iPad-optimised, compared to only two on the Android platform.

Tragic event in Connecticut

My heart goes out to all the families who lost loved ones in the shooting at Elementary School Newtown, Connecticut

On December 14, 2012, Adam Lanza shot and killed 26 people, including 20 children and 6 staff, at Sandy Hook Elementary School in the Sandy Hook village of Newtown, Connecticut, and then killed himself. The school shooting occurred after he had shot and killed his mother, a volunteer at the school, at their nearby Newtown home. It was the second-deadliest school shooting in U.S. history, after the 2007 Virginia Tech massacre.

After shooting his mother Nancy Lanza, age 54, Adam drove her car to the school. The killing of his mother at their house made the overall death toll 27, in the day's rampage, not counting Adam. His older brother Ryan Lanza was mistakenly identified as the shooter in early reports by media organizations, and was later voluntarily questioned by the New Jersey Police, the Connecticut State Police, and FBI, though he was not considered a suspect or taken into custody. Ryan's identification was found on Adam Lanza's body.
