Apple's Best Apps for 2014

Apple followed Google's Play Store lead they have listed their own best apps of 2014 on its Apple App Store. For this year Apple awarded Apps that are  smart and creative. Apple's favorite app of 2014 is "Elevate" this app sharpens your mind, improve memory and focus. The 2nd placer goes to Instagram's Hyperlapse which turns videos into time lapses.

For games, "Threes!" a puzzle game wa chosen for iPhone, while perspective-bending platformer Monument Valley won on the iPad.

Taylor Swift got the top album and top pop honors for Music.

RIP Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs, the innovative co-founder of Apple who transformed personal use of technology as well as entire industries with products such as the iPod, iPad, iPhone, Macintosh computer and the iTunes music store, has died. He was 56. He had been suffering from pancreatic cancer.

Trash converted to a cute Android robot

If you've always wanted that little Android icon on your phone to come to life, there's hope. Someone from Taiwan has built himself an Android robot--made from a painted garbage can.

Despite its trashy origins, the wheeled robot certainly looks adorable with its rotating arms and LED lights for eyes. All of these actions are controlled via an external remote control. There's even a little port at the back to charge the machine.

This little fella was built using Arduino, an open-source microcontroller board for developing interactive objects. The microcontroller takes commands from the remote control and sends them to the switches used to control the lights and motors of the robots.
